  That makes so much sense that halo was developed with the party game style in mind. I think that's what made it feel special at the time

  Party games are based around the experience of playing with people. That is always more meaningful than any other genre

  Preach, brother. I&apos;ve been lamenting this since like 2017. There&apos;s a certain conflation of games for fun and games for success that&apos;s been blighting us for some time. Not that competitive games are intrinsically bad, but I feel like culture sometimes loses sight of the &quot;why&quot; we play games, and that gets in the way of our enjoyment of them. I like to take a step back and ask myself if &quot;winning&quot; is the intended outcome. For something like Jackbox, I think most don&apos;t really care if they win or not, and there&apos;s something really magical about that. We&apos;re just hanging out enjoying the play emerging from a system in front of us designed for fun and not for glory. <br>Here&apos;s a fun exercise: Can you think of any versus games that don&apos;t result in a &quot;winner&quot; of any kind? The only I can think of is Telestrations.<br>Wicked thumbnail btw.

  1. this channel is so underrated god damn. 2. party games are so great, i was playing among us before the trend hit so when it did hit i was very happy all my friends suddenly had it

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CU6aO71fcmU&amp;t=158">2:38</a> Thanks to Kirby&apos;s Down B, I was able to clear the World of Light. Most of the Spirit Battles are impossible without it since the stone Kirby transforms into also has invincibility frames. That way, you don&apos;t get damaged in that state.

  Completely agree. The best part about playing games is playing them with friends. Even when playing single player games I HAVE to be around at least one other person to share laughs with. Hell one time I went to a friend&apos;s party and my brother brought dark souls for people who haven&apos;t played to play until they died, then hand the controller to another person. And as far as smash goes, I love smash and am pretty good at it, but I&apos;d rather suck and have fun than go pro and forget how to have a good time
