My idea for Rolands Elder Sign: +1. Move a clue from a connecting location to your location, or vice versa.

The Leo discussion is interesting because you absolutely can run a density of allies that makes his elder sign always hit. Every great Leo deck I've ever made has had 13+ allies and utilised a heavy churn and burn playstyle where you can't die because there's always more soak coming.

But elder signs shouldn't constrict you to a certain playstyle, or demand owning a large card pool, so I totally cosign your suggestions!

I think Hank’s +1 is actually one of the elder signs that says: “engage with my ability more. Do not sit the whole game as starting Hank, go resolute faster”. Adding an effect like some sort of card draw would go against that idea.

Amanda: +0. If the card beneath Amanda was committed to this test, you may double its icons and effects.

Great video. It's always amazing when you pull that token but can be quickly be dampened when you realise it does nothing. Some of these elder sign abilities feel like a bit of an after thought. Like Roland's ability. Just never really matters where as when you draw the elder sign as Silas you're like hol' up. I need a minute to do some calculations to pull of a power play.

So many Elder Signs being such meh draws was one of my minor but consistently disappointing pet Whippoorwills.
Considering how bad autofails are, I think Elder Signs, as their counterparts, could have felt more exciting than "I guess I pass".
It's kind of funny how Elder Signs would often feel worse than +0s because each time I'd think "Maybe it does something this time" and then be invariably let down again.

Jim should have "you may treat the next token you draw as a skull", so it would be like a favour of the Jim

Talking about breaking rules? Talking about positive tempo? How about scenario-agnostic tempo that isn't related to game state? "Roland Banks: +0. Gain a Clue from the token bank."

No one else does it. It reflects Roland's external FBI connections turning up clues or useful information. It's basically never a negative, even if it's not always useful. It's out of class for Guardian. It rewards you for taking tests. It can fundamentally alter the play state and swing a losing scenario at the right time. It doesn't make you more likely to pass improbable test. It doesn't negate any of his weaknesses, but leans into a play pattern where other people might want to support him by revealing additional tokens.

Plus it is new player friendly.

Roland's Elder Sign could move a clue from anywhere to his location like vantage point. You could get some shroud benefit, or if the test kills an enemy, you get it for your ability

Leo: search the top x cards of your deck, where x is equal to the number of ally you control (minimum of 1).
Tommy Muldoon (old): Move up 2 damage/horror from cards you control to other cards you control. (make it possible to go from asset to asset.) You may draw a card for each card defeated this way. (or make it only 1, but to a card at your location to be able to hit an enemy).
Kymani: If this is an evasion test or there is an exhausted enemy at your location, you may take an extra action directly after this test.
Jim: +1 For the rest of this scenario, you may ignore the scenario effect of skull tokens. Trigger this even if you treated this as a skull token. And then also the extra card draw you talked about.
Wendy: +0 If Wendy's amulet is in play, gain 1 resource. (her amulet already "gives card draw", see could really use some resources to play the extra cards).

All: Elder sign should probably be a "may"/"up to", it's the token representing things go yours way after all. Drawing that card when you don't want to (topdeck stuff or triggering the shuffle), or having to do a damage to an innocent bystander, etc You should get to choose.
