  I think everyone saying it, but I LOVE Skizz’s story about the drumming audition. It takes a lot of courage to just out and talk about faith, especially such personal faith. Good on you, man.

  was just thinking about the makeup stuff, for a lot of people it’s actually an art form — more about self expression rather than being born of insecurity and trying to be perceived as somebody they’re not<br><br>editing this just to say how relevant this has become in light of what’s happening on twt rn LOL

  I Love Skizz&apos;s story, I&apos;m not a Christian, but i have always firmly believed in the saying &quot;People come into your life for a Reason, a Season, or a Lifetime&quot; &nbsp;you were sent for a Reason :)

  I love hearing Skizz talk about religion. I was raised Christian, and my parents were abusive. I’m not saying those two are the same thing; and I’m not saying they’re mutually exclusive. But they <i>were</i> intertwined in my life, and I’ve had to work through no small amount of trauma because of that. <br><br>But hearing about Skizz’s honest and pragmatic approach to it all just heals something inside me. If I may be so bold, Skizz: I think that the fact that you were willing to follow that prompting to its end means that you’ve got a whole lot more real faith than a lot of people who make being “holy” and “outwardly religious” their entire personality. And if I may be so bold again: I think you were absolutely meant to be there for that kid.<br><br>You were able to make a difference in that boy’s life. And by telling this story, you’ve made a difference in my life; and maybe in the lives of a bunch of other people who are listening to this podcast. Who knows? Maybe through that rejection, you’ll be able to make a much bigger difference in the world than you ever would have been able to by sitting behind the drum kit on that stage. <br><br>But hey, that’s just my thoughts X-D Gonna listen to the other half of the episode now!

  I’m glad I found this on the day of my second placement exam for an extremely competitive PhD program I want to get into. I didn’t place well enough the first time, so professors wouldn’t write recommendation letters for me. Some takeaways I’ve learned thus far:<br>- if I do well enough, awesome! I hope that’s enough to get into a program and be recommended. <br>- if I’m ultimately rejected from all programs or don’t do well enough on this placement, then it’s not time yet. <br>This rejection is not personal, I shouldn’t give up on this passion for it.

  Literally everyone needs to hear this podcast. One of your best to date. I have had the good fortune to cultivate the same drive and work ethic that Skizz has from a young age, but was always held back due to a complex, “invisible” chronic illness that I’ve only very recently began to understand. It’s very inspiring to listen to someone who’s had a similar story, especially with Skizz’s MS diagnosis. Keep doing what you guys do ❤️
