The REAL Pros & Cons of Living in Destin (Don't Move Until You Watch)

Every year people move to Destin expecting it to feel like vacation forever. And every year some of them are genuinely surprised by what living here is actually like. So before you make that move — or before you talk yourself out of it — let's have an honest conversation. I've lived here since 1999 and I've helped buyers from all over the country relocate to the Emerald Coast. This is the real story of living in Destin, not the highlight reel version. We cover: ✅ The true cost of living in Destin — purchase price, insurance, and everyday expenses in a resort town ✅ What summer tourist season actually feels like when you're trying to live your daily life here ✅ The local job market reality and what it means if you're not a remote worker ✅ Hurricane season, flood zones, and how to go into coastal Florida living fully prepared ✅ Why the beaches, boating culture, and outdoor lifestyle here are genuinely hard to find anywhere else ✅ The financial case for Destin — no state income tax and what that means for your bottom line ✅ Exactly who Destin is the right fit for — and who might be better off somewhere nearby The buyers who move here and love it long-term are the ones who went in with their eyes wide open. This video makes sure you do too.
