The problem with letting others do it for you is that they’re going to steal your idea, go do it themselves, make all the profit from it and leave you in the dirt. Always be very careful with whom you share your plans if you want them to stay your plans.

Most artist development conversations miss the real issue. It's not about building the artist. It's about building the leverage around the artist. You can develop talent all day but if that artist doesn't understand ownership, negotiation, and who actually controls the money, the development just makes them a better product for someone else to profit from.
