  Elsewhere, Pileggi spoke about the ironies surrounding Rosenthal, about how he didn't believe in long shots, yet he married one and he didn't believe in luck, yet luck is what saved him when the bomb detonated in his car!

  Nicholas Pileggi is a national treasure!<br>He&apos;s almost 90 and going strong, I cannot wait for upcoming scarpa biopic.<br>Thank you for posting this interview

  From what I learned from watching the movie and reading the book, I have reached the conclusion that there was neither love or honor in Las Vegas at that time.

  He is missing an important point - &nbsp;the whole thing was discovered by accident - &nbsp;there were some bars / restaurants were being blown up in Kansas city - that is why they had tap on the phone in KC . &nbsp;They found out about the Las Vegas skim completely by accident from that .

  Pileggi&apos;s late wife Nora Ephron was also a writer and penned the screenplay &quot;My Blue Heaven&quot; with Steve Martin. &nbsp;While Pileggi interviewed Henry Hill gertting his life story for the book &quot;Wiseguy&quot;, Ephron listened extensively to his ex-wife Karen&apos;s amazing, funny anecdotes about mob life from her perspective. These stories provided the inspiration for her comedic script.
