I really think we need to stop normalizing “You gotta get out when you turn 18” because most children aren’t mentally or emotionally ready to be on their own. Unless you’ve given them the tools to be on their own and they show you their capable stop pushing them out into the world that they’re just not ready for.

first problematic teen scenario I've seen in a while where seeing the mother and hearing her speak doesn't fill me with dread. I can say in good faith that she's trying her honest to god best to uplift her daughter but is just frustrated. I don't think her mother knew the depths of the damage and abandonment her daughter felt, I don't think the girl knows either but im confident they'll come out the other side with a stronger relationship one day. compared to some of the other mums we've seen, she's got a good chance of bringing peace to her house one day.
