I can say this is the most sympathetic viewing of Travis that I've ever seen.

The psychopathic passenger in the film, the one who tells Travis he's going to kill his wife and her lover, is the director himself, Mr. Martin Scorsese

For any man that has ever felt alone and out of place, this movie hits harder than almost anything anyone has ever watched.

The composer, Bernard Hermann, also did the scores for Citizen Kane, Psycho, The Birds, Cape Fear, North by Northwest, and many other movies and TV shows. A true genius.

Great reaction. It's nice to see someone really understand the character and appreciate the cinematography.

The breakfast scene between DeNiro and Foster was well acted and well written. Foster, being about 13 years old, did those lines like a twenty year veteran actress.

I’m 55, and never got into reaction videos until Covid shut us all in. Watching other younger people reacting to the movies, music, comedians and other pop culture people and things from my era, and really appreciating them, just makes me happy.

It’s so cool to see it all through your eyes. And when I see you really getting into it, and saying how much better entertainment was before, it gives me hope. Y’all deserve movies and music that move you and make you think, and my hope is that you’ll start to demand better. There are so many stories out there, just waiting to be told.
Thank you for seeing sympathetic to Travis. Nobody really understood PTSD back then. They used to call it being shell shocked.

The Easy Andy gun purchase scene is perfect. The way he's talking about guns like he's selling kitchen ware.

A Seinfeld episode spoofed that scene in The Shower Heads.

You’re the first reactor I’ve ever seen who immediately recognized Travis Bickle’s PTSD. At the end, people see Travis as a “hero” because he killed Iris’ pimp and other handlers, but they know nothing about his previous attempt at Palatine’s life to get back at Betsy. Meanwhile, his physical wounds have healed but the PTSD is still there and he’ll likely kill or commit an act of extreme violence again. It’s a super dark movie for sure, so I really have to be in the right frame of mind to watch it, but it is without a doubt one of the greatest movies ever made. It’s also a fascinating look at New York City in the 70s, when it was clearly on the decline and just a dirty, run-down city. The largely gentrified NYC of today bears almost no resemblance to the dangerous place it was back in the day. Plus, Robert De Niro’s and Jodie Foster’s performances are a master class in acting and so early in their respective careers. Just amazing!
