With the exception of Satanized, the entire album is heavy 80s vibes. It's basically Tobias's love letter to the 80s music he listened to growing up

I mean "Spillways" is reminiscent of "Hold the Line" by Toto but what I like most about Ghost is that they give me a nostalgic feeling without totally being derivative.

They tune to D Standard and Tobias is not ashamed to wave his influences, De Profundis Borealis from this album has a heavy Maiden vibe while being completely Ghost.

The whole album deserves the Doug treatment, but if you don't go for the whole thing, make "Cenotaph" your next one. Really chewy, good stuff in there - it's almost as if Boston, Queen, Def Leppard, and Gabriel-era Genesis (complete with a Hackett tapping solo - eat your heart out Eddie Van Halen, Hackett did it first!) all merged into one.
