  Sandra missed probation reporting and argued that rebuilding her career explained what happened. Judge Boyd gave her 3 years in prison. Too harsh, or exactly what the repeated violations justified?

  The lady is not a nurse. She is a nurses aide. Nursing aides do not require or are issued a license. Stop calling aides nurses.

  Was there any indication her crime was one that meant she couldn't be trusted around vulnerable people or is this just a stigma around addicts?  Is there any indication she would work around controlled meds (many facilities don't do those anymore for many reasons)?  The more I see of this judge the less I like her.  She seems to be on a power trip every time I see her, ridiculing people for using perfectly normal language like calling their children "kids" and making up her own stipulations.  If the legislature or nursing board intended for probation to be an absolute bar to healthcare employment they'd have put that in a law or policy.  It's not up to one judge to decide she just personally doesn't like it so anyone in front of her has to find a new career (probably paying way less than the one they are forced to leave).

  I usually agree with you Judge, BUT YOU WEREN'T LISTENING. Working at a FACILITY IS NOT HOME HEALTH UNDER ANYONES DEFINITION.  So if you want that added, YOU NEED TO TELL THE DEFENDANTS THAT.
