While it's a small role, that actor playing the Flaming Dragon guy really sells it so well.

Tom Cruise actually asked that his character to look like this. This was his idea. It was genius.

The funniest part is the very quiet and polite “could you find out who that was?”

When he asked “Wanna find out who that was”, I actually paused the movie to laugh. He did alladat, and he had no clue who he was talking to 😂

The character Cruise is ACTUALLY playing is Jeffrey Katzenberg. Seriously; I worked for Katzenberg back in the late 80s-early 90s. This is EXACTLY who Jeffrey is behind closed doors. Everybody who was anyone in Hollywood has seen this side of him. What's more, Jeffrey also had a very weird Tom Cruise obsession back then, which makes the whole thing a hilarious inside joke for people in the industry. I laughed myself to tears when I saw this the first time, and literally fell on the floor laughing when Les Grossman yells out "DIET COKE!!"<br>Back in the day, Jeffrey had a SERIOUS Diet Coke addiction; he had a little minion following him everywhere carrying a silver platter with two chilled diet cokes on it at all times. One day I quipped to him "Hey Jeffrey, ever consider just mainlining it? Try an IV?" He was NOT amused!

Kinda baffles me that people don't recognize Tom Cruise; in spite of the prosthetics, he's got a very distinctive face and voice.
