Some years ago on the family farm at Pecan Point on the old Mississippi River. I was metal detector hunting to see what I could find. This land and where our hq was . Was owned by some McGavocks of Tennessee they moved here in the 1820s with Felix Grundy. I found a Virginia belt buckle and a few feet from there. I found a General George Thomas reunion medal for the battle of chickamauga. Pretty neat treasure

I had many relatives serve under Cleburne during most of the war, and were charging with him when he was killed at Franklin. 33rd Alabama Volunteer Infantry Regiment.
