She said that she didn't want them getting distracted by meaningless relationships but you've got to learn how to have MEANINGFUL relationships. These people drove their poor children crazy.

In cases like these, I really wish we’d stop describing this parenting tactic as “sheltering” or “protecting” and start calling it what it is: isolating. They isolated their kids. They raised them in confinement like little inmates.

When I read that she had made the boys work to earn tokens and that twenty tokens only earned them one hour of LISTENING to a family-friendly approved show I knew we had a case of mental abuse.

To tell your own kids, they would burn in hell for having fun is ABUSE! The outcome proofs it. Devastating 😢

The mother and father "loved" their kids so much they threatened an eternity of fire and torment if they played video games or enjoyed any entertainment. I wonder where the mother went in the after life ?

Ironically,  their family band PROVIDED entertainment to others, but they weren't allowed to enjoy entertainment of their own. That's not to mention the rest of their very restricted life.

He probably got more freedom in prison, than he’s ever had in his upbringing.

The ironic thing about this case is that Jacob is probably now experiencing more “freedom” in prison than he ever did before his incarceration.

"Life is not about entertainment and fun..." 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Yes, that's right! Suffer, my children, suffer! That's a life worth living! I don't get it... Nothing is better than watching your children having fun, rolling on the carpet laughing. This is why we have kids. Their happiness makes us happy. Or maybe it's just me....

Making a 14 year-old boy cry and scream he’d burn in hell for playing video games is unconscionable. What did they do to the other boys? The parents were nuts.

The dad mourning his wife doesn't understand the irony. He was allowed to find a good match for himself and then kept that freedom from his kids. That's why his wife was taken from him. It's his own fault that she died. Maybe I'm coldhearted, but I don't care how much it hurts him. That's a small fraction of the pain his kids have felt their whole lives.

These parents were nothing less than bullies that used parenthood as an excuse for abuse . Terrible people.
