Don't understand parents who have more than 1 child if they can't treat them equally. So many times things have been scheduled at the same time for both my kids and me & my husband divide it. No child should ever feel like this!

I'm the oldest of 5, and my parents went out of their way to ensure we all got fair and even treatment. Did they mess up? Yes often, but they never made me feel like I wasn't loved or that my feelings weren't valid. I am much closer to them now as an adult and parent myself. I understand why things were the way they were

I can relate to this. My problems with my parents were on different lines. There were things they needed to apoligize for. My mom finally did, but not my dad. He couldn't swallow his pride and leave himself vunurable.

They BOTH had to be at the game? Both of them? They're going to have many years of showing up for the younger one. Yes he's 23, but this was their last chance to participate in something that they helped build with their child, his education.

I tried to talk my parents into letting me skip high school graduation (it didn't work) and I did skip college graduation (very large, all day long, incredibly boring, event). I don't regret skipping it - I don't care for ceremonies (my wedding being the sole exception). But then, that's me, everybody is different.
