Kola and Amur also have a hauntingly and dreamy beautiful guitar score that adds to the appeal. Amur also consists of 4 maps. Yea, they are on top of my list, because of the snow, followed up by Don and Glades. Also in particular that's because it's Russian maps and this is where i kinda feel at home. Nothing against American maps, but i would have appreciated more Russian snow maps, with build-up, for example, railway construction.
Somehow the Russian maps also felt like uncovering and mastering decrepit lands, while the American/Scandinavian had the enterpreneur buildup theme. Shows also how Russian maps have almost no modern buildings.

honestly, I would've voted season 16 at lowest even lower than season-7 if its not for the 3 cool trucks they added. Yeah the new gateway helped but it makes me wonder what devs were thinking before that gateway. Anyway, good video TeleMance, Really surprising results.

My approach to Almaty is always launching my vehicle off the cliff and into the quarry so I don’t have to drive all the way down multiple times. I leave a recovery vehicle down there to rescue it and start hailing back out. Saves a ton of time.

Kola, Maine, Michigan. I loved that Kola & Maine weren't just "slog it out in this thick mud/slow terrain a lot" but there were a lot of alternate and trickier routes that you had to think and plan around. I know a lot of SR players are drawn to Amur & Yukon but I just find it tedious. 150+ units of cargo over the same stretches of unavoidable thick bog just feels like a chore as opposed to being a bit more creative

Wisconsin is no.1 for me so far. The paper mill and railway contracts were fun, the logging is excellent and the views and woods are so peaceful.
It doesn't feel needlessly grindy like Yukon and it's new trucks are great

The thing about Amur is it sucks so bad when you start out. Its an absolute slog. But you decide to stick it out and match its stubborn disposition. You eventually string some successes together and are gifted the greatest truck in the game (zik 605r). Sometimes you grind so hard you lose track of time and you are deep into the night out in complete wilderness, so you switch off your headlights and sit still, in silence, just to really soak it in. It immerses you in its solitude and ambience. Eventually when you conquer the region you get to decide which region you want to go next and then you realise NOTHING compares to that region. It takes time to re-adjust, to simpler maps, and to re-learn how to play in a region that is not actively trying to defeat you. I actually fell off the game for a little while, not because I hated the experience, but because I missed Amur. Everything felt like so flat, like it just wasn't going to stack up after that.
