When you stick together, can you help each other repair each other’s bus a wonderful thing.

Can Gary do a video on changing Generator Bushings on the bus, without removing the generator? Would love to see it.

What an awesome trip! Hope all the repairs have now all been done, tough luck. Imagine doing that trip in an electric vehicle, couldn't do it! Thanks for sharing, greetings from the UK!

Gawd, this was a hoot. Such beautiful country, but those "roads!" You gotta wonder if the Wolfsburg fabrikarbeiter ever dreamed that the buses they were assembling would still be put to the test like this over 50 years later. And then of course at 8:50 there was "fart-vegnugen." Getting excited when you meet a Vanagon or a '63 Beetle on the road reminds me of riding in my dad's brand-new 1960 Beetle on Long Island, NY... When we spotted another (then rare) VW, we'd honk and wave! Glory days. Guys, you keep on writing those chapters. -Burt in NJ

60 year old busses!!This is true Americana! It's amazing how those funny-looking German vehicles have become such an important part of American history! I love my 71 squareback!

Miss my 1965 vw bus, sold it May 1975 for $900, and left pa for ca, camped 3 months across country to ca (didn't take vw, wish i had). Before I sold it, i had a beautiful mural painted on the side; everytime I watch one of these vw videos, I hope to see mine. Very dependable going up snowy, hilly roads in Bucks County Pa. I loved the workings of the engine, kept my bus in top shape.

Fair play to you boys for being brave enough to take those old buses down those roads 👏
