Atlantis was such an underrated Lego theme. The minifigures are so cool, and the Aqua Raiders skeleton in the "Gate to Atlantis" set is such a cool yet grim detail for a Lego set.

8073 is probably the most nostalgic Atlantis set for me. I remember owning it and loved it.

4:26 this guy kicked some serious ass, I have to say. I loved the style of the sea creatures, because they weren't just regular animals.

I remember that shark set and I might of built it wrong but I remember the mouth wouldn’t close on it like the Aqua Raiders shark

Looking back, I wonder if the sea creatures were supposed to be robotic, almost like the guardian sentries of Atlantis. It would explain the sticker patterns and the more mechanical looks. I remember there was an animated movie for Atlantis, but I can’t remember if it explained anything like that.

Sea scorpions (eurypterids) were super prolific prehistoric species we have lots of fossils of them. Lots of their creature builds take elements from prehistoric creatures I think they were sorting of going for a 'prehistoric horrors hiding in the undiscovered parts of the ocean' vibe

The shark design is inspired by the thresher shark in real life, whose tail is disproportionate to its body
