Why the Nintendo 3DS Is Still Amazing

  My mom bought me the first 3DS when I was in high school. I used to go to her work after school and hang out with her. One day, I took a picture of her and showed her the 3D effect.<br><br>She was so blown away.<br><br>I&apos;m much older now. Have kids of my own.<br><br>My mom passed away 10 years ago.<br><br>Recently, I dusted off my old 3DS and was messing around with the camera and ended up finding that picture of my mom.<br><br>My wife said her heart broke as she saw the little boy in me cry for his mother.<br><br>It was like she was in front of me again. A cruel and at the same time the most beautiful thing.<br><br>The 3D technology was so cheesy to me back then and killed my eyes, but now it&apos;s something I&apos;m grateful for.

  The 3DS was the most “Nintendo” feeling console ever. It had absolute classics plus NES, SNES, GB, and GBA games. Also the design was so cool and futuristic and street pass was a genius idea. Everything was perfect. The switch was great but it had no soul. Even the 3DS had a social aspect and the menu layout had so much love and customizability

  over 10 years ago when I was 7 my mum sadly passed away. to cheer me up for christmas my auntie bought me a 3ds xl because I really wanted one. we were broke at the time but she somehow managed. I absolutley loved it. one day I came home from school and couldn&apos;t find it anywhere. I remember exactly where I left it but it was just gone, never seen it &nbsp;since. it&apos;s been nearly 8 years since that tragic day. The other day I went into a local collector shop of mine and saw a 3ds xl sitting there for a pretty decent price, it was black and red just like the one my auntie got me so I decided to get it. I got home, homebrewed it and I&apos;ve been loving it non-stop. <br><br>I can almost guarantee that my old one will turn up in a few weeks.

  I “lost” my sister to drug addiction (she is still alive, but it’s complicated). When I revisit my old 3DS and scroll through the photo album, I can see all of the old selfies and photos we took together when we were younger. I haven’t seen her looking so happy in such a long time. Those photos combined with the beautiful composition that is the photo album soundtrack can make me cry in minutes every single time without fail.<br><br>Before I had my 3DS, I’d had a Wii and a DS Lite. And what I think is so charming is that none of them offered the same experience as another. They were each perfect in their own way. I grew up with a LOT of devices; some WAY more obscure than others… but I’m grateful that I got to experience all of them because they each hold so many memories. &nbsp;I’ll never be able to choose which was my favorite because I think that each of them offers something different.

  I still bring my 3DS out with me and I still get street passes!! It’s rare but it’s happened on multiple occasions :)

  From 3DS when they want you to feel good, to &quot;you have to pay 10$ for the Switch 2 tutorial&quot; lol

  I&apos;ll never get over the stylus, the double screens, the 3D slider, the customizability, being able to shut it, I mean it&apos;s just so unique and amazing I&apos;m considering repurchasing one in 2025.

  The 3DS stands as a reminder that just because the Switch had more power, it didn&apos;t make it a better console. I really hope the Switch 2 has some of those old features like StreetPass / Playcoins to really push the portable aspect more, those were some really magical moments as a kid

  Switch 2 needs to bring back some of the features found in the 3DS. Streetpass was legendary, and I miss when Nintendo consoles actually had personality

  In highschool about 4 kids would consistently bring their 3ds. We met at the end of the year since we all ended up being seniors or so
