I took a Korean made, 20 plus year old Epiphone 335 as a project guitar. I put some Stew Mac vintage pickups in, updated tuners etc and it's basically one of my favorite guitars to play. Not an analogous situation, but just a pleasant outcome for a small outlay and a great learning process in how to update and repair a hollow body

I’ve had mine about a month, I play it everyday. Had it pleked by Sweetwater, it’s one of my favorite guitars. I’ll have many years of playing enjoyment with it. It’s perfectly built, very solid and has beautiful tone. Thanks Mike!

I bought the white version (Alex Lifeson vibes) and it’s a fantastic instrument. It covers so much ground musically.

Fine playing, Mike. As a car guy, I appreciate that different brands from the same company may have a signature look and feel. Buick. Cadillac. Pontiac. And there are many unique Epiphone models. Texan. Frontier. Casino. Riviera. I love my Joe Pass Emperor II and my luthier lent me his Sheraton, and wow, I dug it. But when Epiphone is recreating a Gibson model with the name "Inspired by …" attached, and the program is run from Nashville, which is also where the specifications are set in stone, it is functionally a Gibson. Nowadays, with the same headstock shape and a similar quality hard case. One usually, though not always, made overseas. Given the fact that used Gibsons are pretty expensive, even with a few dings, I think a brand spanking new Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom, at a tad over a grand, is the way to go. It certainly doesn't need to be a case queen, just a fine sounding working man or woman's instrument.

I went down the semi-hollow rabbithole recently, was settled on a Epi Sheraton but couldn't take my eyes off this Hagstrom Super Viking on marketplace. Absolutely gorgeous. I was shocked when the coil splitting made it sound like a Tele in single coil mode, to the point that I sold off my Tele because it became redundant. The coil split is almost like a Gibson/Fender switch. Love this thing.

More proof that tone comes from the hands. Watching great players and the delicate nature of placing hands on strings has always amazed me. I think it helps greatly for a player to develop a relationship with the instrument. You have certainly developed one with this guitar and it really shows. Beautiful touch and tone.

That is a beautiful guitar. I, however, went with the Eastman T59/TV. I love it.

Hey man, I've been watching your videos for I-don't-know-how-many-years now, and I have to say: your touch on the instrument has really evolved. Nice work, nice playing! Keep it up!
