Mrs Baylock looks like just the kind of nanny only Satan would hire. She gives me the creeps. Really good casting and Gregory Peck was probably the classiest actor Hollywood has ever produced. This movie is definitely in my top 10 horror movies of all time.

This movie scared the hell out of me when I was a kid !! This is going to be good !! I've got three king cans of beer , my wife is baby sitting over night at the daughters . Which means I can watch this whole movie without stopping every 15 minutes to explain what's going on ..... Sure is quiet here .... Too quiet .... I think I'll call her , tell her about the movie : )

It still irks me that Jerry Goldsmith, one of the most prolific film score composers, only won one Oscar for a score and it was for 'The Omen' which deserved to win, for sure, but why not 'The Planet of the Apes' (his most daring and avante-garde score in my opinion) or 'Rudy' (very inspirational) or 'Star Trek: The Motion Picture', one of his most beautiful scores ever? He received 18 Oscar nominations over the years, but just one Oscar. Grrrrrrrrrr. RIP, Maestro Jerry Goldsmith.

I've seen this many times but I just realized the Priest was Dr Who.

The scene when you see the jackal in the cemetery is one of my favorites in horror movies. It's simple, but the power of the man finding out that his adopted son was born through an animal is incredible. Topping off that with the fact they murdered his son to arrange the situation. One of the greatest scenes in horror!

To cast actors as credible and classic as Gregory Peck and Lee Remick was a real stroke of genius. It took this from being ‘just’ another horror movie and made it a true classic. Also, the meticulous casting of the child and having him portrayed as a silent presence and not some adorable moppet was very wise on the directors part. Plus, no one could have given a more chilling performance than, Billie Whitelaw, as Damien’s nanny. Her icy, stoic, demeanor adds credibility and realism to the film and gives the entire movie a true feeling of impending dread and top notch terror.

How fitting that the little demon boy comes up through a family of politics. I didn’t understand any of this at 10 years old when the film was released. Now though? Today? As a grown man?…I fully understand the message this film sends.

When the very austere yet confident replacement nanny says "Not with me" meaning that the child would not fear her but  would even bond with her I thought to myself of course that's because your his mother.

Gregory peck still looked great in this movie, when he smiles and beautiful Lee Remick runs into his arms. His smile looks great.

Patrick Troughton makes a great psychotic priest in this movie, and also an entertaining Dr Who

I love it when the replacement nanny played by Billie Whitelaw says, "Have no fear little one. I am here to protect thee".

Classic beyond classics … the advertising and set up for the film was picture perfect and must’ve scared the living hell out of the 70’s audiences
