Simple and wonderfully compiled.

Usability note: whenever you have a rod projecting from a mechanism, you need to convey to the user how the rod is to be used.
If the rod is not meant to be manipulated at all (like the stop bar on this stop), it can be left plain.
If the rod is meant to be twirled or twisted, the end should be knurled.
If the rod is meant to be moved in two axes (like a gear shift), it should have a knob at the end.
If the rod is meant to be moved in one axis (like the cam lever and the locking lever on this stop), it should be flattened on either side in the direction of travel and a few grooves cut into the flattened area perpendicular to the length of the rod.
If the rod is meant to be pulled out of or pushed into the mechanism, it should have a broad flat head with a slightly concave top.
To some extent, these features make the device easier to use, but their real purpose is to make the device easier to _understand_. When we see a projecting rod with knurled end, for example, we instantly know: ah, that rod is meant to be turned.

When encountering bad chatter , I usually just switch-over from BBC radio 4 to Radio 1, nice bit of Pete Tong classic Ibiza mix👊😅

Anytime you get chatter speed is the first to think of. Chatter is caused by harmonics.

for easy machining and mostly cheaper material , SS416 is a good material , I use mostly CrMo steel with sulfur to make very easy cut and coat the parts by using an electroplating nickel DIY tank

Very nice project. I've been using an old magnet base which is not the best. Thanks. Bob from South Dakota USA

Like the Concept. I made a different version years ago. The Cam is a feature I would add if I make another.
