"Kalakal" means merchandise, and the song is a flex on haters who tell them they're irrelevant, because SB19 is practically saying in the song that anything they endorse sells out so fast (which is true). No reference to drugs whatsoever, these boys may be totally badass, but they represent the country with dignity, talent, and pride. They're cultural ambassadors and they've been awarded certified replicas of the historical map that defined the Philippines as a nation during the 1700s. They never sing about drugs, heck, they rarely sing about romantic love. This is one of the main reasons why they're so different.

Kalakal means to trade or to barter something.. not drugs 😭 hahahaha they're basically saying everybody wants what they're selling (talent, skills, merch, etc); and when it's them selling, they line up for it. Carefulllll, you can't just say things like that in regards to anything/anyone in THE PHILIPPINES. 😅🤣😭

Just so you know guys, SB19 members are strongly against using drugs like cocaine. Besides, it's illegal here in the Philippines. You would get them in trouble by saying Kalakal is slang for cocaine.

It would really help if you get your context straight, because Filipinos would get mad at people calling their top boygroup as drug users / drug traders.

Kalakal means merchandising, trade or business, so they featured their merch in their Music Video because the 5 of them are also entrepreneurs - and everything they sell (their own merch, clothing line, events, music or endorsements) - are always sold out despite detractors who always pull them down because of crab mentality. That's the meaning of this song and MV. 😅

Drugs? No, no, no, please no. That is so far from the truth of what this song really means, Rick.

FRIENDLY ADVICE: For all future RVs related to SB19 songs (including their solo releases), it’s automatic that the lyrics must be included. Their songs are rich with meaning, and the lyrics deserve thoughtful interpretation, like poetry. A’TINs naturally dive deep into every line, uncovering the emotions and stories not just through the words, but through how SB19 sings them. Even a single word can carry emotion, their tone, delivery, and expression make every detail intentional. They’re not just singers, they’re true artists.

Oh no!!!! They’re ambassadors. They don’t even smoke or drink so drugs is definitely a big NO! They’re a breath of fresh air after seeing those drug related news here in the US. These boys are good examples to our youth nowadays. They’re very respectful and humble. These are the very traits that pulled me to Stan them aside from their incredible talents. The main things that stand out for me are their unique songs (SB19 genre) they have distinct style, each member with their strong & unique vocal tones, and you can see that they are truly enjoying the stage. Their music is their KALAKAL. 😁
