Good overview of the city's past and continuing story ... I grew up there in 1947-1962 & left when my dad got his dream job w/ NASA in Florida working on the moon rocket & launch. I've visited friends and family still living in Bflo nearly every other year since moving, keeping up with the area's decline, crises, and efforts to revive. Resilient folks! I'd love to live there again if I were young <s>-WNY winters indeed are a physical challenge and in my late 70s I'm in no shape to try tackling them. I live in N. Va. now, hated the years I had to endure Fla., and missed the 4 real seasons of the North so much I had to get closer to the old home town! My spring/summer/fall visits to Buffalo always include some museum or architecture marvel, as well as the latest local delight from area restaurant cooks -</s> foodies looking for a thrill shouldn't pass up a few tastes of Buffalo!
