  I’m gonna ask a hypothetical clock question, “I’m sure I’ll get a lot of hate “but what if someone bread a burn ball to a short tail python? I would bet that would be a fantastic beautiful snake. Just my opinion. Please don’t hate on me. I breed Ball Pythons short tail pythons, a bunch of different boa’s , species of boa’s. Anyways, I’m just thinking. Out loud unfortunately. Lol. I am 2 1/2 minutes into your video in this thought already came in to my brain. Possibly could be bad. I guess I’m sure I’ll get a bunch of hate. But I’m OK with that. Everybody’s allowed to think the way they do.

  The "hypo" between the 2 different species is definitely confusing. Maybe they need to rename the Incomplete Dom trait in the Burmese to something like Dilute as with lots of other animals that have that trait or lighter color with 1 copy and white or near white with 2 copies of it.

  These are amazing breeding projects, just make sure to write down all their and their offspring pedigrees to have the best future information on passed traits and parental species genetic input! That also would greatly help to be able to separate them from non-hybrid lines when needed. Probably you already doing that, unfortunately many morph breeders I know don't bother for some reason, while it is such a powerful selection tool, a core one even.

  Absolutely love it! Beautiful animals, and I find it so fascinating that ball pythons and Burmese pythons can successfully hybridize despite being separated by such a huge geographic distance. It really shows how closely related they still are.<br><br>One thing I’ve been wondering about is how you would build a large, healthy and genetically diverse Burmball breeding population long-term. If you start with a small number of F1s and mostly breed F1 × F1 or back to the original parent stock, wouldn’t that eventually create a pretty limited gene pool and increase the chances of concentrating hidden recessive issues?<br><br>It seems like you’d need a fairly large number of unrelated founding animals and very careful tracking of each bloodline through every generation. You’d probably also need to bring unrelated animals into the program over time to keep the population genetically healthy.<br><br>Have you thought about how you’d approach that? I imagine it would eventually require multiple independent breeding lines, and probably multiple breeders working together, to maintain enough genetic diversity.<br><br>On a side note, I 100% want one 😊
