Those are German cockroaches. They do not live outside, only with people. They must be brought into a house or business they will not just show up. They reproduce very quickly and can become a major issue. The house this console came out of must be brutal lol Also, the third cockroach had an ootheca (egg sac) she was about to drop. One German cockroach egg sac can can hold up to 40 nymphs.

This gives me flash backs. Back in 1995 the landlord refused to do anything about the roach problem. You couldn't drink anything without a roach swimming in your drink. So my mom got some roach bombs and and fog. We went to a hotel. My mom spent over $200 for roach bombs and fog and some roach poison and put it everywhere in the house. And my mom cleaned the house before we came home. She said there was dead roaches everywhere. She was mad because she had to pay all that money and that was the landlord job to do. But anyways. We thought we was roach free till someone moved in above us. Apparently all the roaches went upstairs. One night I forgot to put the lid on my drink. And I was watching a movie. I picked up my soda and drank it and you could feel something swimming in your mouth. I spit it out and it was a roach. I screamed then tossed my cookies. My mom was mad. She called the building inspector and reported the landlord. The landlord retaliated and told my mom she had to move. My mom said let me out my lease and he said your out. My mom was like bet I'm out. We left everything at the house except for family pictures and clothes. Anything else we left it because it might have had roaches in it. We basically had to start over. And that was close to 26 or 27 years ago. Living roach free. So seeing this just gave me some flash backs.

Pest Control Technician for Orkin here, I've been in homes with major infestations of German roaches. I've seen this happen a lot with electronics in these massive infestations. The heat that the console generates and the dark nooks and crannies in the console is a good environment for them to propagate in. When they are in electronics like this, I put the electronics in a large plastic bag and I put in a Hot Shot pest strip, which is essentially a piece of rubber with a fumigant in it and seal the bag for at least 24 hours. Works very well.

I've cleaned dirtier, unfortunately. As a kid, I used to be a huge video game fan in a broke household. I'm thankfully out of there in a clean spot with no bugs at all! Not all collectors can choose or do anything about where they're born. Good luck to all you gamers seeking cleanliness!! I'm rooting for you!

this video makes me very emotional. i recently moved out of my mom’s place where we dealt with a massive german cockroach infestation for 4 years. i was at the lowest depths of my depression during those years due to many personal factors, roaches included. i would binge drink just so the roaches crawling everywhere would blur. they gave me nightmares and panic attacks, and made me feel ashamed, isolated, and disgusting. we never invited anyone over.

i eventually got out of that situation and moved in with some dear friends halfway across the country, luckily without bringing any roaches with me! every other month maybe 1 will appear (apartment living and all) but never infestation levels. i feel grateful just to be able to cook food again.

i still have many laptops and consoles from that era that i bagged up years ago. even if it brings back traumatic memories, i want to clean them like this someday…

that’s all to say thank you for this video, seriously!!!! 💙💙💙 and for showing that this is possible!

I am so thankful that (a) I have no idea what that smells like and (b) smell-o-vision doesn't exist.

7:00 I have a friend who's Xbox One got ruined because turtle water somehow managed to spill into the console, so I decided to be a pal and offer to help fix it if i could. When I opened it up, fhere was such a foul fucking stench... And there were so many dead cockroaches everywhere. No matter where you looked, fheres just carcass after carcass, barely any free mass of space in the xbox. I almost threw up. I had to go to my dumpster to literally dump out the mass grave of bugs and I had to use bleach, alcohol, garden hose just to feel confident about how clean the console is afterwards. With my luck, the console worked like if it was brand new.
