I was well taught to be respectful and employ good manners and no foul language was ever used by my parents nor uncles or aunts. My mother used to say: dress according to the event your invited to, if it is a wedding or similar but never spend your hard earned money in purchasing brand clothes, shoes or bags, because that makes you poorer and enriches the already wealthy designers and style industry. If you can't find something elegant that makes you look well enough, politely decline the invitation and don't go but if you can, send your gift. Wear the nicest jewelry even if not real pearls or gems. Always try to not be looked down upon. Always dress nicely, don't be sloppy even if going to the beach, look nice even if going to the supermarket and never leave your house without a natural looking soft make-up. Make sure your shoes are clean even if they are sneakers. Never go any where with hair rollers. Always be tidy. All my friends, boys and girls according to their sex had a similar upbringing. Be polite with everyone but stand your ground. As I grew up and went to the country side for a weekend vacation I saw how even people with very low income were polite and after returning home from the fields they bathed or showered before supper.<br>Yet in my young adulthood I saw how all those good values vanished from younger generations, kids spoke foul stenchy words, all politeness, respectful body language. We now live in an uncivilized, rude society. 😢😢😢 No moral values.
