  Brother arrived at the end of a big journey! Their last 5 albums, including this one, are littered with lore and this is the story’s conclusion. BUT you don’t need to know the lore to enjoy and connect to the music. Welcome to the clique!! |-/

  just getting ahead of this to say: you&apos;re going to get a bunch of people being like YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THE LORE!!! and as a fan for over 13 years, don&apos;t worry about that yet. take in the music and enjoy it at face value first! a lot of people listen to their albums for the first time frantically trying to connect everything to the lore and confusing themselves in circles, even on songs that aren&apos;t lore lol. the world they created and just finished is rich and the rabbit hole is deep (i know it front to back and i love it so much), but it could really taint your experience if you feel like you&apos;re jumping into the deep end and you feel pressured. the barrier of entry into the band isn&apos;t as high as people make it seem and the albums CAN just stand alone as normal albums without having to understand a decade of story building haha. and hey, if you end up liking them enough, then you can dive into the story! it is worth it, but don&apos;t let people rush you into catching up on 5 seasons of a tv show immediately lol

  I&apos;ll keep it short and simple. Start on the Vessel album, and go in order. You won&apos;t be disappointed, best band in a LONG time.

  Starting here at the ‘end’ actually gives such a pure reaction for where they are now &amp; how good this album actually is. You can now go back &amp; see the journey that brought them here.<br><br>Scaled &amp; Icy. Is not a bad album… it was different &amp; bought out in the pandemic and fans didn’t expect the style so some were disappointed….. most now admit to loving it. It makes me so sad that Tyler feels like he let us down. I wish I could tell him that SAI is the album I put on when I want to feel happy.

  So Tyler Joseph is the singer and plays a bunch of stuff, most commonly bass guitar and ukulele but also piano, electric guitar and probably more. He&apos;s also the one that writes the songs and he&apos;s a huge advocate for mental health as shown in several songs. Josh Dun (the one holding the jacket in the album cover) is the drummer though he does have a teeny tiny singing part in &apos;&apos;Drum Show&apos;&apos;. &nbsp;I don&apos;t actually know who is the producer for their songs. Worth mentioning Mark Eshleman who is their creative director and often helps a bunch with videos (in case you wish to start diving into the story videos). Would recommend their other albums btw, they&apos;re great and are definitely not defined by genre at all.

  As far as I know, Tyler doesn’t actually have too many rap influences. He originally started rapping due to having too many lyrics to fit into his songs normally by singing them, so he started “speaking” them at a faster cadence, and that eventually turned into him rapping on many songs. This is mainly evident on a lot of their earlier songs, like Fall Away, Taxi Cab, and Isle of Flightless Birds, all three from their first, self-titled album, Twenty One Pilots. <br><br>I remember Tyler saying this in a Regional At Best-era radio interview from about 2011-2012(?)
