It's easy to forget just how good Akira Hokuto was back then. People tend to remember the golden age of joshi pro wrestling in the late 80's and early 90's for how violent the matches were but they had so many great gimmicks and women with huge amounts of charisma that captured the imagination, it translated well overseas because they didn't need to speak English for their gimmick to be over or their charisma to shine in the ring. In modern times, Asuka, who takes a lot of notes from Akira Hokuto on her entrance and how charismatic she is, has captured that overseas imagination again. This is how you get overseas stars over, a great gimmick and even better matches, plus an electric personality that draws people in.

I think even American wrestlers could learn a lot by watching those matches about how to get over without even having to speak.

I'm bummed out learning of the real meaning behind Madusa's name. LOL

The funniest thing about Madusa in WCW is that they invented a Women's title and then had Madusa lose, and she never won it. The Women's title tournament was so thin that one wrestler wrestled twice.

If they started with Colossal Tussle and ended with Wrestlemania, one has to believe that at some point, the term TussleMania must've been brought up.

I always found it amusing that WCW created two different women's titles and Madusa, the only woman signed to WCW, never held either of them.

Interesting fact about Lee Marshall is that he's the voice of Tony the Tiger for Kellogs Frosties.
