  I was so glad I got to say hi at Open Sauce! Each of the three piano-based projects I saw were fascinating in their own way.<br><br>I didn&apos;t realize (obvious in hindsight) that you also designed the PCBs for this! Good job engineering it to save filament and PCB size. Engineering for manufacturing is a major talent to have, as it takes ideas from interesting but never going anywhere to practical.

  PLEASE continue, ive been trying to 3d print an 88 key piano of so long. I&apos;ve been working on the project on and off, but never got around to finishing it. I would love to see a polished file and guild it would literally make my whole year. This is so peak, might have to finish mine

  The most important thing to understand about a piano keyboard&apos;s hammer action is that its downward dynamics are different from its upward dynamics! Downward, we elastically control the velocity of the key (the hammer striking the string), but upward, the key must lag slightly behind the finger, literally fractions of a millimeter, so the pianist has time to move the finger to the next key! This is how a piano keyboard differs from a synthesizer keyboard (whether weighted or not). Yours has the same dynamics (even though there&apos;s a step in the middle), so a real pianist won&apos;t be able to play complex passages on it. I recommend you (if you want a compact and lightweight imitation of a piano keyboard) consider a pneumatic valve for each key. This will guarantee you can change the attack and return speed of the key. This will truly be a breakthrough in synthesizer keyboards! Good luck in all your endeavors!   Keep working, you would solve a &nbsp;massive problem for piano players around the worlds, if possible, when you perfect your work, it would be great if you focusing on building custume keybed for people with small hands, it would be a big ask, but we can always dream.

  Hard to believe, but there is no MIDI controller with keys that faithfully replicate a harpsichord. I believe that would be a profitable niche product that would actually benefit a significant number of people.
