  Correction, &quot;they&quot; (Gaijin, the creators of War Thunder) don&apos;t actually acquire those designs, they are GIVEN those designs against their will by insane military members. They ACTIVELY tell people to NOT do that, but it&apos;s obviously such a recurring problem that it&apos;s a meme. Honestly, they might be the game studio with the most contact with worldwide governments.

  You can Identify which is Friend and Foe by Staying on the communication and Asking who is in that area, who&apos;s doing what etc. that&apos;s why Soldiers are trained in a Fork of Arma, they&apos;re training communication skills and Fighting tactics, also if it&apos;s an RP server there will be a Standard uniform for each team but if you&apos;re playing a Casual Server it can get messy when everyone is playing Tactical Barbie Dress up

  The “Going to jail” comment badger made at the start is real by the way. When Bohemia was developing ARMA 3, they used a real Greek island as the basis for the fictional nation of Altis. Naturally some of the developers went to the island to get references and as you would expect were taking ALOT of pictures. Some of those pictures were of active military installations, which got them arrested and charged with espionage. They were later released and the charges dropped. In regards ARMA being used for training, ARMA (a highly specialized offshoot of it) has been used by the US Military for a while now.

  You can always do the &quot;Ukraine drip&quot; in order to know who is who. Since the Ukrainians and Russians are using the same camo, the same gear, the same guns, and speaking (marginally) the same language, they use brightly colored arm bands and flags in order to identify eachother in situations where seconds matter.

  DayZ was made from Arma2 and was originally a mod that became so popular they made it into it&apos;s own game eventually and moving it from the Arma2 framework to Arma3 framework and then eventually getting it&apos;s own modified version of arma3&apos;s engine.
