True Story. I was a senior in high school in 1994 and I was required to go see this film and write a reaction paper on it for my senior English class. That class ended up making me a better person and seeing things in different ways. I HATED this film the first time I saw it because I was being required to see it for school. It has ended up being one of my favorites of all time and I have seen this film COUNTLESS times.

If you notice, Brooks is never seen behind bars until he gets to the halfway house at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8DQJ7Kl2cc&t=1085">18:05</a> he's looking through the wooden spirals and those look like bars. For him, being a free man was prison.
