I think the Australian wolverine really hurt it. Ironically an Australian playing wolverine saved the franchise years later.

I used to wish the animation of the 90s series looked half as good as Pryde of the X-Men. X-Men 97 pretty much took care of that for me.

If they made a full season it would've been a hit just like GI Joe. I remember the minute you saw the VHS you had to have it, especially with it still lingering in stores while the arcade game was out. Dazzler in the shot you hold gives off Jem vibes which makes sense with the multimedia stuff.
