  I was a loser in my 20s living with my mom, so I decided to do something about it. I joined the Army and did 6 years in cyber security. I got out with bad joints and sleeping problems and I can't find a single job. Now I'm back living with my mom as a loser in my 30s

  ill be honest im 30 years old and live in my moms house. shes 85. and i have a 65 year old mentally handicap sister. i take care of them and i still work a full time job and pay all the bills. i moved back home to help out when my father was in his last years. after he passed it was plainly obvious my mother wasnt in great shape either. i dont pay rent but i do pay 900$ a month in oil heating 6 months per year. electricity, satellite tv, internet, home phone, cell phone x2, property taxes, 1000$ in groceries every month and i cook and clean and do all the yard work, landscaping, plumbing, electrician. ive self taught myself how to do ALOT of things to maintain this house and give her the vacation she deserves. My parents adopted me and all my siblings hence the age gap. but im the only one who was willing to come back and do for them what they did for me. people judge me and then they feel like POS when they hear my story. Its not easy, and it gets lonely. keeping a girlfriend isnt easy when i put my family first. but i will die without regrets.<br>Edit: Thank you all for the kind words!   In my 30s, I was on Omegle to work on my social skills and ran into these two teen boys who were trying to prank me and were acting like idiots. I just talked to them about life and after an hour they didn&apos;t want me to go. They thanked me for all my advice. I realized then, sure I am struggling in my 30s, but I never struggled like these kids did in my teens.... Male mentorship truly is a need in society right now.

  When my brother was in middle school (early 2000s) he had various workshops at school including carpentry, mechanics and electricity. All boys loved that stuff. They were all naturally interested, nobody had to pressure them to participate. Now those classes dont exist anymore.

  I just want to give a shout-out to all of the boomer/gen-x parents who have seen their adult children struggling and instead of shaming them have opened their arms and provided them the home and support they need. I know this isn&apos;t the case for everyone, but for those of us lucky enough to have that older support network, make sure they know how much you appreciate them!
