I pay Income tax, National Insurance, 15% paying back my student loans, VAT tax on everything I buy, road tax, masive car insurance, council tax, tv licence. I've got 2 university degrees, but can't afford to rent a flat on my own in London only a room in a house share. Welcome to britain of 2026

It is honestly astonishing how much the British public is expected to tolerate. Tax on income, tax on savings, tax on pensions, tax on inheritance, tax on spending. At every stage of life, working people are squeezed harder and harder. The middle class works relentlessly, does everything right, yet is allowed barely more than survival. The government does not even seem to want ordinary people to enjoy the tiniest bit of comfort or luxury, just enough to scrape by and keep going.

What is even more unbelievable is the silence. Why do people tolerate this without real resistance, while the filthy rich and powerful remain largely protected and exempt through loopholes and privilege? The imbalance is obvious, yet so many accept it as normal. At times it feels like people have been conditioned not to question it at all. This level of compliance is worrying, because a society that stops pushing back will continue to be taken advantage of.

I hope videos like this wake people up to the scum that are in government. Absolute criminal to take that much tax off us. We’ve all had enough.

Owned a ltd company for years. Many crucial things this guy has missed out. You couldn’t buy a 200k house on a 12k salary, in fact you couldn’t buy any house. Secondly when you deduct the maintenance of the property, the months it’s left empty or the times you just don’t get paid.
Thirdly any money taken out of a ltd company is due corporation tax which is on profit, which you then pay tax on again to put in your own name.
A complete gamble that property has to go up in value, I made 4 times as much money doing nothing buying stocks and shares with huge dividends, if they start to fall I can get rid immediately on the push of a button.
The buy to let market crashed about 10 years ago stay well clear!

Not to be negative (because it’s a strategy that’s been successful in times past) but this only works if the value of the assets increase. Across Canada we’re seeing 20-40% decline in home prices, depending on the area. Many investors and home owners are under water and losing their shirts. Be careful, no strategy is without risk.

In the 70s top rate income tax on earned income was 83% and if you had unearned income such as interest or dididends there was an additional surcharge of 15% so that income was taxed at 98%.

Thatcher canceled the unearned income surcharge and lowered the top rate tax 2 or 3 times, each time she raised more tax revenue.
