  What  a great trip. I went to Bergen and ofcourse I went to Hjelmås. I guess I best could describe it to "starstruck". There I was with the car and I could buy what I wanted and as much as I could pack into the car, and I left with 2 skeins. Its better to plan a head or at least have an idea of what and how much yarn to buy.  Yarn = happiness.

  i am glad to hear you enjoyed our countries! before i started watching knitting videos online i was not aware of all the knitting tourism that apparently happens - very fun to get an insight into! as a swede, i agree that the yarn shops in norway and denmark are a bit superior, they have more interesting local brands that are in the shops, in sweden you have to usually find the more interesting swedish yarn makers in markets and festivals. but still very glad you enjoyed your trip here :)

  Hillevåg is great yarn, great diversity in quality and variety in colors and yarn types. I use it for special projects and when I splurge, quite expensive even for Norwegians 🙂 Rauma is also a favorite of mine. I knit quite a few selbu mittens, it's absolutely a favorite for that. Unless you want to go above and beyond and buy from selbu spinneri, pure luxury 😍 When knitting on a budget I buy Gjesdal or Drops yarns. Sometimes Dale, or Novita (Finnish), they have great sock yarns. I guess we have the benefit of variety, at least in wool yarns. Synthetics are not as popular or common in Norway, even compared to Sweden. Oh Holst yarn (Danish) is also fabulous ❤

  Wonderful video- making me excited for my trip to Norway in December. Just a little point to share- I recently finished a project with Cardiff cashmere in navy and it bled a ton. Totally unexpected. I’d hate to think of a potentially ruined scarf for you…. 👋🏻🇬🇧 having just watched the end of your video, same warning (I hope you don’t mind!) with the Tinde- I used a deep burgundy and was washing my hands every so often there was so much colour transfer. Maybe it’s just me? Happy knitting and enjoy your beautiful haul.
