I love the 1940-1960s sounding narration with a modern topic.

I was born in Ohio and moved to Honolulu in 1981. I cannot imagine living anywhere else in the world. Lucky Live Hawaii

I'm elder Gen X and was born and raised in Honolulu. I've always said that Hawaii, especially Honolulu, is the quintessential great place to visit, but you wouldn't want to live there. I left in 1992, and I see it has declined measurably since then. I get nostalgic once in a while, but I'm not sorry I left.

I visited Waikiki for the first time in 1985 and it still had that old Hawaii vibe. I went back to Hawaii in 1993 to get married in Hana, Maui, and we island hopped with Waikiki being our last stop. I was astonished at all the high rises that had gone up, the vibe was all but gone and it felt like any other congested city. The rich destroy everything they take from the middle class.

I've been to Oahu 6 times, one of my favorite places to visit. VERY expensive.

I was there in1980 (from Cali in my 20's). I just remember stepping off the plane, getting a lei tossed on me, & thinking that the air I was breathing in was rarefied. Flopped on the beach near Diamond Head or scuba diving by day & Blue Hawaiians & dancing me arse off by night! Doesn't get much better than that when your young. Enjoyed a month there. Heaven!

As kid I sold newspapers in Waikiki, as a teen worked at the Honolulu Zoo in the summer.<br>I lived in Kalihi Valley about 15 miles away but always made it to Waikiki even if I only had a one way bus fare I went anyway and walked back home.

Waikiki will always be busy. It's a gathering place. It's the birthplace of surfing...there is no downfall of Waikiki because there are aloha ambassadors and cops patrolling Waikiki to make it safer. Waikiki is always gonna be a place of wonder and excitement for many people...plus you have diamond head in the background. Photographers great scenery in the background. Waikiki will always be a great place to be in.
