At 10 years old in 1959 I saw my first Citroen. It was love at first sight. In the coal fields of WV we mostly saw Fords and Chevrolets. The Citroen could ride on 3 wheels and had lights on the roof. I've never owned one, but I have dreamed.

Error at 3:31: The engineer André Lefèbvre is shown here, not Paul Mages! André Lefèbvre worked at Citroën from 1933 to 1957 and created together with the designer and sculptor Flaminio Bertoni three cars that caused a worldwide sensation and are all considered "automotive classics": The Traction Avant ("Traction avant" = front-wheel drive), the Citroën DS (Déesse – Goddess) and the Citroën 2CV. He also designed the Citroën Type H van, which likewise achieved cult status among enthusiasts.
The rest of the video shows not only the Citroën DS, but also the Citroën GS, SM, and CX models. And the DIRAVI (Direction assistée à Rappel AsserVI) power steering system wasn't introduced in 1967, but in 1970 with the Citroën SM.
In principle, it's a good video about Paul Mages and Citroën's hydropneumatic suspension, but unfortunately, it also contains some errors, some of which I and other commenters have pointed out here...

Citroen not just developed the Hydropneumatic system, they also had to design and develop the machines needed to produce the various hydraulic components…

When you understand and maintain your own DS21 , you feel like a pilot flying and a captain sailing at the same time.
In the previous century I had one with my girlfriend's footprints passionately smashed into the soft foam ceiling.

Marketing guys didn't ask the engineer, it was the other way around. The engineer has already traced a solution in his mind.

Yeah, the DS did not stay flat in corners bud. Hella lean. That flat stuff had to wait a few decades until the Xantia. But to this day, still the smoothest suspension on the planet.

Love Citroen, saw first one in 1956 at 11, bought first one of four in 1970. You're wrong about Detroit engineers, many could be seen driven be engineers. My last was an SM.
