It is very interesting how she she describes things the “alters” and “the system” and “co-conscienceness” “seeing through their eyes” ….. all this stuff is exactly how I experienced it and described it to others. So it is very validating that someone else has had a similar experience as myself. I always questioned myself that I must just be making this up for some reason but the amnesia episodes are very real and scary.

I have a very good friend who has this condition. We've known it for years. When she changes to a different personality, we just roll with it. It doesn't change how we react, it's just incorporated with our activity. No matter what, we love her and support her in everything she does.

You know, from age 3 to 13, i was sexually abused, r@ped as i got older then groomed, and now at 46 have bipolar BPD depression and all the other goodies that come with it. I know my mind has locked a whole load of what happened to me up. I'm starting EMDR next Monday and I'm terrified because i know my subconscious locked them terrible things up for a reason and i don't want to remember. First off it was my stepdad then my mum met a pedophile and he groomed me, then at 21 I was raped and brutally attacked whilst 5 months pregnant and we lost our baby girl 2 weeks after. Encina is an amazing warrior queen ❤

Thank you for posting the longer cuts, especially of the discussion of the psych ward it is very valuable information. I've been adapting to life post diagnosis and watching the 1 hour cut has been extremely helpful, even though its a super old video, so seeing this get posted out of the blue was a nice surprise.

I think it’s important to point out the difference between personality and identity. We all can have differing personalities based on factors like who we are around, if we are under the influence, etc. but our identity (your age, sex, ethnicity, etc) remains the same. That’s why DID isn’t just ‘this is the sassy or bubbly or mean version of me’, but actually entirely different people.
