Caleb Flynn's Ex-Mistress Testifies In Trial Over Wife's Murder

A woman who was romantically involved with Caleb Flynn when his wife was shot dead in her bed in Tipp City, Ohio, testified in his murder trial today (Wednesday, September 23). Alleigha Botner was on the witness stand for most of the day in the Miami County Court of Common Pleas in Troy. This is the first 70 minutes of her testimony in direct-examination. Botner met Flynn in church. He was working for his father-in-law's carpeting company. "What did he tell you about his relationship with his coworkers and his boss?" "He he told me that he couldn't stand any of them." 04:04 "How long did it remain professional?" "Until until March of 2024." 05:23 "I stayed in Camelot Beach Suites, about 10 minutes from the beach." "What did you do while you were there?" "It was kind of just a solo getaway trip, just to spend time alone and with my dog. It was after Caleb and I had ended things. I just needed to kind of get away and have time to myself. Just a small three-day trip. That was it." "When did you and Caleb end things?" "My laptop, my work laptop." "Can you tell the jury how you lost the laptop?" "Yes. ... genuinely feel was completely innocent. I do these things a lot. "I was selfishly afraid that my reputation was going to be ruined and that I was going to lose my job. And now that there was a murder attached, I didn't want, I didn't want to be attached to that in any way, so I was unfortunately just trying to save myself from my reputation being ruined and from losing my job." "What caused you to tell more of the truth that night?" "They told me they found text messages on Ashley's phone." 10:18 "I noticed that someone kept hacking into my Instagram, so on my email, I kept getting alerts that someone was hacking into it, and it was always the Tipp City location. And also, somebody was liking a lot of pictures on different people's profiles that I wasn't liking, such as guys that Caleb thought that I had feelings for." "What did you think was happening on that Instagram account?" "I thought Caleb was hacking into my Instagram. 11:39 "He would search my phone a lot when I was singing on stage. My phone would be sitting in my office, and he would get on my phone and look through it. I knew that it was him that was hacking my phone the whole time." 14:15 "Towards the end of that month, Caleb expressed what he had feelings for me, and he said that the reason reason why he thinks it's okay to have those feelings is because his wife cheated on him two years before 2024." 18:45 "How did you and the defendant communicate with each other?" "At first, it was iMessage, and then it was WhatsApp." 24:10 "Fair to say that's almost 300 messages a day on average?" "Yes." 29:02 "In your grouping communications, how often did the defendant express negative feelings about Ashley?" "Just about every day." 29:36 "Who else said awful things about Ashley in those communications?" "I also said awful things about Ashley." 32:13 "Where would you often meet during the day to engage in sexual conduct?" "At my apartment. One place was the parking lot Chipotle in Vandalia." "How often were you intimate at CLC?" "Never." 35:54 "How often would he make statements about wanting Ashley to die? " "Probably at least once a month." 37:40 "It was his 15-year anniversary cruise, and at that time, I was really hurt that he was going on that cruise. And he said that he was going to send a fake letter in the mail to have the cruise canceled." Ashley found texts and asked to meet with her. Saying something along the lines of, "I'm thoroughly confused. We need to have a sit down when I get home. I saw I saw text messages between you and Caleb. "I didn't think I could face her, knowing that I was having a relationship with her husband, I didn't think I could compose myself to that." 40:50 VOICEMAIL "You are more than free and able, and have every right to do what you want, and I am sorry. "After the cruise, he told me that he was going to find a way to leave her, that he was going to divorce her. So at the time, I knew the whole time I knew what we were doing was wrong."
