I wish this was longer. I could listen to Geezer talk and play bass for hours.

"If there weren't any Fenders, I have no idea what I would play" proceeds to play some Laklands lol

Love Geezer, Nate, and the P-Bass...corporate beancounters running Fender into the ground can pound sand though

In 2012 Black Sabbath put out a trivia contest on their Facebook page. I was bored at work and filled it out. I had just read Iommi’s bio so my skills were ripe, lol.

I won the contest.

They flew me and my brother in law out to Chicago from NY to meet the band and see them at Lollapalooza.

This post could be 20x’s longer. But long story short, meeting the band was of course unreal. Ozzy was just everything you hoped for. But what was amazing was when Mr Butler and Iommi pulled me aside and tested me on the questions. I nailed it. Mr Butler was particularly impressed. They were also impressed with the super rare vinyl we brought for them to sign. Geezer sat and spoke with me with what felt like an hour. We talked playing, song writing, England vs US post war.

We weren’t supposed to be, but Geezer got the tour manager to give us side stage passes for the show.

I watched the entire set with Flea, Chad Smith and The Osbourns.

I’ll never forget.

It's funny to see Geezer Butler in this video since he hasn't used Fender basses in over 15 years since he signed a contract with Lakland lol

That old Geezer should start a band, he seems to be really good.

Good to see that despite his age, Geezer didn't cease and desist playing the bass.
Now I feel like noodling a bit on my Precision bass copy from another smaller brand.

Geezer is one of the most important men ever to live for rock, metal, and just music in general. I enjoyed seeing his band play with Slayer, Primus, System of a Down, Deftones, Fear Factory, Static-X, Slipknot, and Rob Zombie in 1999 for $50. I saw Dimebag and Vinny Paul walking around. I learned later that Kerry King recorded the outro for Pantera's "Goddamn Electric" in a backstage bathroom that same day. Those days are never coming back.
