  I bought a porch chair. I sit on it and watch people and squirrels for hours with my phone away from me. It’s been so therapeutic and I recommend it to everyone.

  My buddy told me I was a "catch" for women.  I had self-doubt for sure, but now I realize after becoming the frog that got boiled, I am a catch. Financially fit, exercise every day, trail run, climb mountains, ski, do races, dress nice, dog dad,  follow through, and get a haircut every 3 weeks.  Women have been coming out of the woodwork to give me attention, I am not used to it.  At first I didn't even notice the attention, I was oblivious.    It was the death of a thousand cuts as you said.  I've been seeing a woman now for about 3 months, who in my eyes, is a 12/10.  The contrast of interacting with a beautiful woman who is nice, interested, appreciative, and caring makes me realize how much of a horrible situation I was in.

  One of the things i noticed is how different men and women are with their support groups (friends). I was married for 20 years, and then dated a woman for 8 which recently ended. In both cases, My ex wife and also my ex gf had several or many girl friends to chat with and get support. They planned weekend getaways to Nashville etc, dinners together, social activities, game nights and basically celebrated a new beginning. It was the opposite for me, my guy friends didnt seem to care much. Yes, i had a beer with one, but guys dont talk much and things get uncomfortable when &quot;feelings&apos;&quot; are mentioned. We are expected to just deal with it and be a tough guy and move on. &nbsp;Most days im fine being alone, but sometimes it sucks feeling lonely.

  I&apos;m 56. &nbsp;Never married and no kids. &nbsp;I&apos;ve never known how to flirt (or spark interest in women). &nbsp;I think some guys just have it and some of us don&apos;t.
