  You missed two important points. &nbsp;One, the smaller displacement means that the ratio of surface area to volume is higher. &nbsp;That means it is &nbsp;easier to fill and empty small cylinders at high rpm. &nbsp;The second part that you missed is that the displacement to weight ratio on the motorcycle is very favorable. &nbsp;That means you do not need much low end torque to accelerate. &nbsp;An engine that does not need much low end torque can easily be tuned with large ports and large duration cams and focus on the high end and rev to oblivion. &nbsp;Also, if you do not need low end torque, you can increase the bore to stroke ratio.
