¥50,000 was taken from my bonus before I ever saw it.
A bowl of Ichiran is ¥980 — so that's about a year of ramen.

How much gets taken out of your pay?

im really interested in a vlog about what you normally eat, not only ichiran, like what do you cook and what do you buy/what can you buy from a convenience store?

I wish we lived in a different system where an extra bowl of ramen isn’t a luxury.
But I’m a huge fan. You’re an extremely hard worker and deserve these fine luxuries in life. I wish u got more.
Thanks for the video!!

Honestly you deserved that second bowl, once in awhile a hard working person deserves to treat themselves. When I can I'll treat myself to something nice to eat when I go out.

In France, it’s the same thing for income, but even more extreme.
Last month, my company spent €6,214 (¥1,144,682) on my salary. Out of that, €2,048 (¥377,262) went straight to the government as employer payroll taxes, leaving a gross salary of €4,166 (¥767,419).

Then, after all the statutory deductions—like healthcare, unemployment insurance, pension contributions, income tax, and various other fees—I finally received €3,023 (¥556,867) in my bank account.
From €6,214 down to €3,023, my income was practically cut in half—and that's the reality for all French workers. It's still a good salary, but in France, we often wonder where all that money actually goes too

I kind of now wait for your videos even though I know it'll be a Ichiran vlog again. The reason, the conversations you choose to do with us related to your life. It makes me believe that the lives of common people are almost similar everywhere. You know, trying to make ends meet. Feels relatable.

Seeing you with your bonus makes me really happy. I'm going through a tough time career wise, with confusion all around me, but someone getting rewarded for their hardwork makes me joyous.

I hope you always get to enjoy your favourite bowl of happiness.

Best wishes!!

That’s an amazing bonus. My husband’s place of work took away money bonuses and once a year (around Christmas) everyone gets to choose between 2 different items. Last year, he had to choose between a duffle bag and a zip up jacket. And of course the items have the company logo. It’s very disheartening. We can always use more money. We certainly do not need more bags or jackets.

It's incredible how our countries are so different, yet we are all still in the same grind. Thank you for uploading and thank you for the deeper dive into how you live...which, in essence, is identical to myself and billions of others.

I am from Singapore. For a young person, the deduction is 20% and that goes into CPF (Central Providend Fund). The employer (i.e. your company) has to contribute 17% into your CPF. That is a total of 37%. The CPF can be used to pay for your government housing, hospitalization and generally acts as a savings for retirement. I am 64 years old today so I have been contributing for 44 years. When I reach 65 next year, I will get a fixed sum every month until I go to heaven. In my opinion, the CPF is a kind of forced savings but in a good way.
