I'm from 🇨🇦. I think this is just something that is bred into Americans. It doesn't "catch" with all of them (thank you, Harris voters, you bring hope), but the rudeness, the smugness, the inability to gain global knowledge, the goal of "We'll show them, tee hee," is simply who they are as a people. They have been brought up to believe that their country is superior, that they are superior, and that they can get away with this childish, bullying behaviour. They look like us, but their core is very, very different. Their "common sense" is very different. How they consider the humanity of others is very different. They like to be winners at all costs, and to have the last word (even if it's nonsensical). These individuals have just confirmed to the world that America is unserious and unkind and takes joy in poking the bear.
