Remember when the NFL toyed with the broadcast camera in the "Madden" position, behind the QB? It was a lot easier to watch the play develop and understand the routes. It would be cool if they brought that back. The sideline view sacrifices all of that.

The reason we don't watch the receivers run routes is because the TV doesn't show it

This is why I still like attending games in person. I key in on the safeties pre snap to see how they’re moving & reacting. Makes the game so much more interesting. In baseball they call it the game within the game.

Good stuff!!! Everyone has their own preference as to what they concentrate on during a play. Most, like me, watch the QB or RB and then switch to whatever the camera goes to. If you're defensive-minded you may start by watching how the D is lined up and then the front line play. It's hard to watch 3 receivers at the same time and figure out what play they are running. It is nice to know what kind of play they are running, like you showed. Thanks for the tutorial. I'm subbed now......

We miss the chess match developing down field because TV still uses the archaic broadcast angle instead of the endzone angle from behind like football was meant to be watched on film.
