1858! Canada finally got permission to make their own coins in the fall of 1858. They started minting right away but the 1858 year was limited because of the late start. Most of the first Canadian coins are 1859. Super find there!

Woz didn't print the $2 bills, he bought legal, uncut sheets of them, and then bound them together in a pad. He would then peel them off The pad and spend them normally.

I don't know what you paid for the estate sale "bag of goodies", but whatever it was, I'm sure that one item, the 1878 US $3 coin, covered your costs. According to the NGC Price Guide, it's worth between $650 and $2,500 (US Dollars) circulated! Good for you.

The story about Apple's Wozniak and the $2 bills is actually that he would get uncut sheets of $2 bills from the treasury (which you can still do today on the usmint site). He would then have a print shop bind them in a pad and perforate them. So when he would go to pay for something he would pull out this book of perforated bills and tear some out to pay just to mess with people since it seems like there is no way that could be real money.

Alex you find the most interesting items! The jewelry was outstanding-especially the cameos. I think you hit the jackpot with the money! Thanks Alex
