I am an American and a Catholic (not "American Catholic") as I commend Bishop Barron calling out stupid. I am of the generation that learned nothing about Jesus from the Church. For decades I attended Mass without a clue why I needed Jesus. By the grace of God I do now. I also educated myself to Church doctrines, dogmas, and devotions, particularly of Mary outside the Church. In doing so, I discovered a merciful church full of grace. I find myself intolerant of rampant stupidity that rendered an "American Catholic Church" because stupidity seems a far better option than knowing the beautiful faith of the Roman Church, beginning with the Nicene Creed.

This was the first book I read after walking into a church for the first time in over 40 years… Imagine, my surprise when I didn’t burst into flames but instead I burst into tears at the utter peace I felt…

Thank you Bishop Barron for your explanation on the Nicene creed especially for those of us reciting the Nicene creed without understanding it

I was struck by Bishop Barron’s sadness at an entire generation of Irish being swepped away at the hands of the atheist movement. He truly cares for all souls.

I remember a heated discussion I had with a college professor who had didn't think that the Nicene Creed was all that relevant. My position, and one I am convinced is correct, is that the Nicene Creed is the criteria by which all Christians must define themselves. If you don't believe in the creed, then you're not a Christian. An atheist can be a doer of good works, but they don't claim to be a Christian. I agree with Bishop Barron entirely. The creed is that which defines us and has defined us for nearly two millennia.

It’s a lovely reminder that as Catholic preacher, to include or make integral the Nicene creed in my preaching or talks

I feel the year of faith passed without the Creed being better explained for the ordinary people - i remember being very disappointed about this and wrote out my own explanation for friends and colleagues and i was so surprised and the amount of people who told me they didnt know about certain points before which saddened me at the time.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for loving me infinitely and unconditionally, right now, just as I am, a poor sinner!
