A 17 year old definitely doesn’t need a Mercedes Benz.
Get her a reliable car like a Honda, Toyota or Mazda.
JM is right….he’s financially illiterate.

Defendant is a slick talker for sure. He said whatever he thought would impress JM, and then ended up showing just how silly he is.

Two good men, different parenting styles. Excellent advice and fair judgement. We are college graduates and currently have two sons in college, and definitely agree with Judge Mathis. 👏🏾

Why didn't the judge split the difference. They both went in even on a $16,000 car. The remainder was $2000. Split the difference.

A Mercedes-Benz and a Gucci bag!!!!? How is a freshmen going to maintain the up keep!!!!! Does he know how much it will cost? The Gucci could have bought books. If she lives in NY, she is going to pay out of state fees which is going to make it even even higher!!!!! Does this dude know how much it cost?

One dad is sensible, the other dad is flashy. The daughter does not need. Mercedes. And how well is this Mercedes car for $1400.00.?Some people think you stand out by being over the top. College is about working hard. Pursuing your career . That Mercedes will only attract t the hangout crew. Stay on campus and do the work.
