  The moment someone says “they have a fear of harming themselves” is a cry for help saying I’m going to do something.. but, is too afraid to go further in detail for a multitude of reasons.    That was immediately when the Psychiatrist should have had her on a first 72 hr hold and then specified psychological assessments and bloodwork, sleep tests, etc would have been done and we wouldn’t be watching this trial.

  For me, telehealth is an absolute blessing. It’s a deal breaker for me if there’s no telehealth option. This trial sounds like it’s bad practice to do telehealth but for some, they would not go in due to various reasons, don’t even think about questioning telehealth because it’s vital for some.

  The way she practices psychiatry is the norm. Psychiatrists typically diagnose and prescribe/manage meds while other therapists provide counseling services. Even now it’s almost impossible to get in person appointments with therapists so I can’t imagine what it was like closer to the pandemic. Mental health professionals rely heavily on patient disclosures unless there are other factors, factors in which her patient didn’t have.

  Lindsay was not following the treatment plan at all, mixing over the counter medications with her psychiatric pills, taking weed gummies, drinking nearly every day, and only saw a psychologist twice!

  Not to make excuses for the psychiatrist, but I’ve worked in several doctors offices before, and unfortunately, if you don’t own the practice, you don’t always have much control over your schedule. The people who own these practices often overbook providers and put unrealistic expectations on them when it comes to how many patients they’re expected to see in a day.<br><br>Because of that, notes get rushed. Providers are going from patient to patient with very little time in between, and they simply don’t have the time to go back and document everything as thoroughly as they probably should. Even a standard doctor’s note, which is usually templated and carried over from previous visits with changes made each time, can be extremely time-consuming. If they documented every single detail the way they ideally should, some of these providers would practically be working around the clock.<br><br>I definitely think doctors need to advocate for themselves when they aren’t being given enough time to properly evaluate and treat their patients or document their care thoroughly. But I also think a lot of responsibility falls on the people who own and run these practices. There need to be realistic expectations for providers instead of constantly focusing on getting to the next patient and bringing in more money.<br><br>I truly don’t believe this woman meant any harm, but unfortunately, the outcome was incredibly tragic. There are so many problems within our medical system, and situations like this really show just how broken it can be.

  The defense wants the witness to answer in yes or no responses because if she gives clarity and understanding, it destroys the doubt he’s attempting to create.

  They can’t call an adult’s spouse, parents, any family member or friend, unless the patient gives consent. &nbsp;For example, my husband and I have that known to our physicians. &nbsp;I need him to know what’s going on with me, and vice versa.

  The jury completely disregarded this witnesses entire testimony. Even reds questions supported the prosecution. These women are sick
