Is Your Layens Hive Full?

Our 20-frame Layens hives are packed, so it’s time to pull some honey frames—but what we do with those frames next is just as important as taking the honey. We’re putting the wet frames back in the hives so the bees can clean them up without any robbing. Putting some at the end of the brood nest allows the queen to continue to lay and brood up for winter for a strong healthy colonies. By the divider board helps the bees continue storing pollen and nectar. Think of it as the colony’s “medicine cabinet”—resources they can draw on later in the season when they need them most. 🐝🍯🌼 There are many reasons to pull honey frames: your colony is honey bound, the queen has no room to lay, recycling frames or you just want some of that liquid gold. No matter why your pulling frames always make sure to leave the bees enough especially going into dearth and getting ready for winter. Would you pull these frames now, or leave them on the hive?
